Tuesday

Today, most stocks declined after a strong Treasury auction showed there is still a healthy appetite for safer investments. However, the Dow rose as some of its more expensive components, like IBM, gained. Long-term Treasury futures reached their highest prices of the day following the auction of a record $44 billion in two-year notes, which saw a big-to-cover ration of 3.63, which is much stronger than previous auctions. The dollar was boosted because foreign participation in the auction was solid as well. While third-quarter earnings reports have largely beat Wall Street expectations, some investors are skittish after the Dow lost more than 100 points in each of the last two sessions. Terrific Thursday

Today, stocks bounced as optimism about earnings season continued to escalate. Strong earnings reports from other bellwethers including 3M and McDonald's aided Dow's climb. Traders said sentiment toward the latest round of earnings reports improved as the session progressed. Several noted that corporate conference calls in the late morning were especially helpful for investor confidence! It has been a while since we have seen the market over 10000 points! Let's keep it coming! DJIA +131.95 S&P 500 +11.51 NASDAQ +14.56

Monday

Today, stocks ended modestly higher as robust buying ahead of earnings season ground to a halt in a light-volume session. Expectations for a strong week of third-quarter earnings reports sent U.S. stocks higher for much of the morning, with financials helping to lead the tape. A series of large banks are set to post their quarterly earnings in the coming days. So we need to be on watch for those. Today was an overall good day in our markets. We are hopeful for the future! We are seeing it improve! DJIA +20.86 S&P 500 +4.70 NASDAQ -.14
