Stocks climbed to fresh multiyear highs, boosted by consumer optimism and strong earnings from industrial heavyweights. The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared .9% to a fresh three-year high. The S&P 500 also gained .9%, and the Nasdaq Composite wasn't far behind, ending up .8%. The broad advances put the S&P 500 at its highest point since June 2008, while the Nasdaq ended just a few points off of a 10-year high.
